I just wanted to provide a quick update on the OrthoCarolina Foundation and our newest international fellows.
We currently have two international fellows visiting us. They will be scrubbing in on surgery with some of our surgeons.
The first, Dr. Alex Betisor is an orthopaedic surgeon from Moldova, the poorest country in Eastern Europe formerly of the USSR. He teaches medical students and junior residents and is looking to broaden his education.
The second international fellow is Dr. Henry Ndasi. Henry will finish his orthopaedic training in Kenya in two months and will return to his home of Cameroon where he will be the only orthopedist for half a million people. He hopes to start a residency program to help with the burden.
