HERE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS THE ORTHOCAROLINA FOUNDATION IS PROUD TO CALL A PARTNER:

  • 'ADOPTED' ASHLEY PARK K-8 SCHOOL: Collaborated with Digi-Bridge a non-profit organization that stresses computer skills and computer-aided teaching. Adopted Ashley Elementary School. A Title 1 school in west Charlotte – participating students improved end of year scores by 30%.
  • PROMISING PAGES: Grades Kindergarten thru 3rd-grade reading programs in Title 1 schools. Title 1 schools >80% of children eligible for free lunch.
  • CITIZEN SCHOOLS: After school tutoring for 165 low-income middle school students who have fallen behind academically.
  • AUGUSTINE LITERARY PROJECT: Tutoring program to improve the reading skills of low-income elementary school children.
  • PAT’S PLACE: Child advocacy center for abused children. Provides financial support to train a group of Pat’s Place trainers giving them the tools to train teachers and anyone involved with children to recognize signs and symptoms of abuse.
  • CLASSROOM CENTRAL: Supporting a supply drive and backpack program for Ashley Park K-8 students
  • TEACHING FELLOWS INSTITUTE: Provides continuing education to outstanding second and third-year public school teachers. Designed to prevent attrition of excellent teachers in public schools.
  • BRUCE IRONS CAMP FUND: Our grant supports BICF with residential summer camp experiences, year-round enrichment activities, and mentoring for five consecutive years starting in 5th grade to low-income Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) students.
  • THE PERRY INITIATIVE: Collaborative program with CMC to promote/encourage women to enter the field of orthopedics.
